A preview of summer

These are just two photos from a great, warm weekend we had with family visiting the NW. I'll get the others posted as soon as I can.

This is at Snoqualmie Falls which was full of water from the melting snow pack and 85 degree heat.

A bit overdue

My parents noticed that my hair was getting rather voluminous and decided it was time to get my haircut again. Since I had an okay time the first round, I wasn't too nervous to give it another try.

The photos are a little fuzzy since they're taken on my dad's iPhone, but they'll give you a decent picture of the neat decoration at Beach Comber Kids Cuts.

You can see a video screen in the background. When I arrived they let me pick a movie or TV show to watch while sitting on the whale seat. I decided that Elmo would be a great distraction in case I got scared. Chris, the hairstylist, was super and made me laugh a lot, esp when she tickled my ears.

Voila! I'm all done and looking good. Before leaving, I wanted to see how tall I'm getting these days. Just shy of 3ft with my Stride Rites on.

Le Ballon Rouge

I wanted to share one of my favorite things with you all. I happen to love balloons and yesterday, when I had a bad ear infection, my parents let me watch "The Red Balloon" movie. It was a favorite of my mother's when she was a little girl. Catch it sometime if you can.

Sugar and Spice...

Hi, I had a fun time in Hawaii. Saw lots of whales swimming nearby. Ate cheese, pineapple and raisins. Then I got the flu, so I've been out of commission for a while. But I'm back, and with great news too! I just found out today that I am going to have a little sister in September - yahoo!

How much is that kitty in the window?

Sydney and I decided to wait for dada to come home from work, peering out the window and watching every car that went by. Finally, he arrived and caught us hanging out on the couch together with his camera phone.

Sighting of a local pirate

We seem to have developed a Friday night tradition of going to Zeek's Pizza for a slice of pizza and a cold brew --- though none for me these days. I don't like to eat. But I sure like the pizza dough they bring me to throw around.

Anyway, this last Friday, I saw a pirate walk in the door and he then sat down at a table of rowdy schoolboys directly behind us. I couldn't stop staring at his crazy hair and eye-patch. Who was this amazing person?

After we left, my mother explained to my dad and I that it was actually a world-famous artist, Dale Chihuly. I can't wait until next week. Maybe he'll return!

Bella Luna

I'm obsessed with many things these days including Carnation Instant Breakfast (vanilla please!), "Pingu" the claymation penguin, bubbles, brushing my teeth, smothering the cat, taking short naps, swimming, belly-buttons, my dad, praying before bedtime, making monkey sounds a la Curious George, and the moon. I just love the moon. Each night we say "Goodnight" to it and read a special story about the moon, though last night we got a real treat (see below):


We watched the moon slowly disappear and then turn this wonderful orangeish glow. I could hardly go to sleep as I was soooo excited.

Just A Little Bit Off the Top

I'm one and a half years old now so my parents finally took me in for my first haircut.It was kind of strange. I sat in this little car, the lady sprayed water all over my head and then combed my hair. It tickled and I wasn't sure what to make of it.
My parents gave me lots of food to snack on and lots of toys to play with.
Now that I got the hang of it, it was kind of fun.
My friend Lily from Coeur d'Alene called me in during my cut.
I sent her a text message and a photo to let her know that it's kind of fun.

My new cousin

My parents just told me that I have a new cousin, Yamima, born in Jordan. I'm not sure what a cousin is, but she certainly looks like a little baby with a funny hat on to me.

Snow Day at Snoqualmie Pass

My mom and dad took me for a walk on Sunday morning around the top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. It was a sunny day and in the distance we could see the snow in the Cascade Mountains. The next thing I knew we were in the car driving up the mountain to play in the snow. It was fun!

Daddy helped me slide down a snow bank. That was cool!

A California Christmas

My mom, dad and I escaped the gloom, rain and flu of Seattle this year and joined my grandma and grandpa Tripp, along with Aunt Katie and Uncle Kevin (and various pets) in Tiburon, California. It was much more exciting than last Christmas (I don't think I remember much of it).

Here we are tearing through gifts and playing with the dog, Oso.

In the afternoon, we joined the Boles Family for their annual Christmas party. This photo is of me with my friends Ian (middle) and Max (left). Apparently, their daddies were friends with my daddy when they were very young. Now they're all grown up.

Okay, back to the presents...

This was one of my favorites - I actually got to open it at home before Christmas as my Tripp grandparents sent it to Seattle. It's a wonderful new armchair. Just my size! I love grabbing the remote control and lounging.

This is my special gift that I got to enjoy during the visit in Tiburon - my very own car.

One morning, my mom, grandpa, dad and I went to the New Morning Cafe for breakfast in downtown Tiburon. It was very yummy! While we ate breakfast, a famous person, Carlos Santana, walked in and had breakfast right near us. We pretended not to notice.

After breakfast we walked around Tiburon and over past Corinthian Island. Doesn't it look like the Riviera?

We then found the park that my daddy played in as a little kid. It was a blast! Here I am with my mommy on the tire swing. Weeeee!!!

My mom gave me some super bubbles that we played with a lot.

One afternoon my parents and I went into the city to have lunch at the Ferry Building and walk around Union Square. The trolley that we rode to Union Square was so packed that we decided to hail a cab back to the Ferry Building. It was almost like New York!

I don't like going to walks as much as I used to these days since I'm so busy with my own agenda, but I joined my parents for a little walk down by the water one evening after my nap. The sunset was gorgeous and we were able to watch all the birds playing around in the low tide.

Don't Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful

Well, I've yet to tell you about my Thanksgiving adventure to Whistler, BC, but this past week has found me rather cranky and fussy as a participant in the sport of "Extreme Teething".

In order to forget how hard things were this week, here is a recent cheery photo that was taken of me for a promotional thingy by the organic clothing company Happy Green Bee (makers of Burts Bees). They're traveling the country photographing kids for free and so I decided to put on my best smile and give it a go. Perhaps I could go into modeling?!?

If the Shoe Fits...

Now that I'm semi-officially walking, my mom and grandma brought me for my first walking shoes at Nordstrom, a Seattle tradition. A very nice lady named Christine helped me figure out what size I am (5 1/2) and which pair I'd like to wear most:

Once we picked out the shoes and bought them, Christine took my picture, gave me a "Nordy" doll, and a green BALLOON!! But, I think that the plug in the wall was the most exciting part of our visit to Nordstrom. I love sticking my fingers in holes, much to my mom's horror.

Girlfriend Update

Ok - so I totally stole this photo from Lily. I wanted to show the two of us snuggling on the couch together last weekend. She's always trying to grab my hand (see the second shot, too - she was just about to grab it back in June). I guess I can try a long-distance relationship.

Kitty - Friend or Foe?

I love kitty. When she comes by, I squeal with delight and chase her so that we can cuddle. She always seems to run away, though. Here we are having a little chat in the bathroom.

Fall Follies

In between the rainstorms that have started much earlier than usual this fall, my folks and I went up to the zoo for our weekly visit. We found a nice patch of dry leaves to play it. It was really fun!


We also headed to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out a Halloween pumpkin. Since the line was soooo long and I was soooo tired, we skipped buying one, but got to pose for daddy.


I love to drum. Anything. Including pumpkins.

Garlic Fries, Hot Dogs & the Mariner Moose

My parents brought me to my first Mariners' Game last Friday night. Though the yelling, cheering, and clapping of the crowd made me nervous as first, I eventually got used to it and enjoyed snacking on garlic fries while watching the Mariners win.

What a difference a year makes!
